After Adriana Moreno graduated from school moved to San Antonio, TX to be with her husband. While she was thrilled to start her married life she found herself without any girlfriends and very sad not to have Thursday girls night out anymore. She thought the only way she could make herself feel better was to go Shoe Shopping on Thursday nights while thinking of her friends. To her surprise shoe shopping did not help because there were no cool places to shoe shop. The only place she could find was one mall and a DSW across from the mall and she was not interested in brands and styles everyone else in town would wear.
Once in Laredo, Texas she found a shoe boutique that carried Charles David Shoes and found it amazing that nobody in San Antonio would carry that beautiful brand. A few months went by she could still not find good shoes in town. Frustrated she bought a pair of shoes of an unknown brand to her, a pair of 3 inch strappy black suede shoes, nothing special, or so she thought.
To her surprise, she got an incredible amount of compliments on the shoes she had bought out of desperation. The mall, the groceries, the doctors office, SAKS, everywhere in town she was stopped by women of all ages and they all had the same comment, I Love your shoes!! Where did you get them? Surprised at first, she did not know what to say, she did not even know the brand of the one pair of shoes she had bought since she had moved to her new home town. The comments increased dramatically and one day she thought, may be I could open a shoe store! Seems like people like what I like and they are interested in the shoes even though they dont know the brand or the price seems like looks is the most important thing. May be I can open my own shoe store with brands that no one else in town would carry. After all, there really is need for a shoe store!!
After that thought crossed her mind, her husband laughed when she mentioned the crazy idea of opening a shoe store. Two months later they found themselves at a shoe convention buying shoes for a store that would open in two more months.
Until this day, she fully enjoys working with shoe vendors and carefully selecting what she thinks her customers will love as much as she does. All shoes that are sold at The Shoe Club are shoes that the owner loves and proudly wears.
